“SIBOL”
Alagad Sining, a group of students and graduates of Fine Arts from leading universities in the metropolis, opened its first group show titled Sibol, a showcase of fine works from 36 young artists, all under the age of 35, last Saturday, February 4, 2006, at the Kanlungan ng Sining, Rizal Park in Manila. Present during the opening were Art Association of the Philippines (AAP) President Fidel Sarmiento, National Parks Development Committee (NPDC) Executive Director Carlito A. Fajardo, art collector Marila Burgos and Philippine Daily Inquirer contributor Tina Santos. The exhibit is still on-going until February 15, 2006. The exhibiting artists of Alagad Sining are as follows: Benedict Abigan, Reina Adoree Amansec, Alvin Anchinges, Emmanuel Balboa, Ruel Baradas, Mark Bolla, Luzviminda Botana, Bernadette Bueta, Racquell May Dalangpan, Maricris David, Mark Espina, Rex Febrero, Robert Fernandez, Isa Gernale, Lara Kayanan, Nino Kanapi, Ike Bryan Lonop, Chiqui Luzuraga, Kenneth Macatangay , Marc Randall Magsipoc, Amer Mira, Anthony Nieves, Kaye O’Yek, Lyra Camille Paz, John Perry Pellejera, Theod Perfinan, Rommel Quimson, Joseph Roa, Arao Salamat, Jeffrey Salon, Eman Santos, Erwin Lloyd Sumang and Jophel Ybiosa. Sibol is part of the campaign of the AAP and NPDC to promote the visual arts and to provide the venue, which is Kanlungan ng Sining, to young budding artists and professionals alike. |
