SERENATA FILIPINA

IN

This Sunday, March 21, 2010, starting at 6:00 p.m., beloved Filipino songs are heard once again in Concert at the Park, with featured guests - Serenata Filipina of Pangkat Kolektibista, composed of singers Betty Rivera, Fame Flores and Ver Dayap with guitarist Eddie Suarez. Ms. Minette Padilla hosts the show. Admission is free.

Concert at the Park is a regular weekly cultural project of the National Parks Development Committee, under Acting Executive Director Salome T. Habal, and the National Broadcasting Network. Mr. Freddie A. Edos is the Executive In Charge of the concert project. Gie Villasor Arnold writes the script.

Serenata Filipina of Pangkat Kolektibista was the brainchild of the late Dely Magpayo, the icon and acknowledged First Lady of Philippine Radio. The group had its debut performance on the very first Saturday of January 2006 on her radio program, “Ang Inyong Lingkod, Tiya Dely”. Mr. Cris Capulso of DZRH and MBC SportsCenter, was assigned as the recamadero or over-all coordinator of the group. Since then, Serenata Filipina has been a regular feature in her program. On August 30, 2008, Tiya Dely Magpayo suffered a stroke and succumbed to multiple organ failure two days later. Cris Capulso took over the program and management of the group and with the help of Tiya Dely’s daughter, Didi Magpayo, continues to bring Filipino songs on the airwaves to the Filipino masses.
