“ALICE IN WONDERLAND”

IN

 Ballet at the Park

THIS SATURDAY!

For its 3rd Annual Summer Workshop, the Allessi Ballet Center brings to Ballet at the Park, this Saturday, May 23, 2009, starting at 5:00 o’clock in the afternoon, the magic and color of “Alice In Wonderland”, featuring young dancers, with ages ranging from three years old to 12 years old, under the artistic direction of Ms. Bella P. Bengco.

Ballet at the Park is a project of the National Parks Development Committee, under Executive Director Carlito A. Fajardo, and for this Saturday, in partnership with the Allessi Ballet Center of Ms. Bella P. Bengco.

Artistic Director BELLA P. BENGCO’s venture into the world of ballet began when she first set her eyes on a pair of ballet shoes and decided that she wanted to try them out.  It wasn’t long before she immersed herself completely in the world of ballet, eventually becoming a soloist of the Dance Concert Company under the Artistic Direction of the late ERIC V. CRUZ.  She has also performed in several productions with the Philippine Ballet Theater. Her dance training was supplemented by dance workshops that she has attended under William Morgan, Inday Gaston-Mañosa, Julie Borromeo and Mannie Rowe (of the Atlanta Ballet)/  She has also taken the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet Teachers’ Seminar.

She started teaching at the Goldcrest Dance Workshop in 1984 and has since taught classical ballet in different schools.  The summer of 2006 saw the birth of Teacher Bella’s very own school, ALLESI BALLET CENTER, which provides training to young talents of the City of Manila (her birthplace) and of Better Living Subdivision in Parañaque City.
